DENR-USAID B+WISER partners affirm support for Pagbilao mangrove rehab.

On October 28, 2014, partners of DENR-USAID's Biodiversity and Watersheds Improved for Stronger Economy and Ecosystem Resilience (B+WISER) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in Quezon province to officially signify their commitment to rehabilitate the 145-hectare Pagbilao Mangrove Experimental Forest, the country's most botanically diverse mangrove area.

LGUs and PAMBs learn how to formulate local policies for environment protection.

Local policy makers from Oriental Mindoro outline ordinances during a group activity of the B+WISER Training on Environment and Natural Resources (EN)R Ordinance Formulation held mid-October 2014.

Twenty-two (22) policy makers from local government units (LGU) and Protected Area Management Boards (PAMB) coming from eight municipalities surrounding the Naujan Lake National Park (NLNP) in Oriental Mindoro are now able to craft ordinances that will provide policy support and legal framework for the protection, conservation and rehabilitation of the NLNP.
