Over 200 representatives from watershed councils, local government units (LGUs), the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, the academia, and civil society organizations, including people’s watershed groups and indigenous tribes, gathered at the University of St. La Salle in Bacolod, Negros Occidental on April 23-25 for the 13th General Assembly and National Watershed Conference of the Philippine Watershed Management Coalition. Philippine hawk eagle rescued in Cagayan

A juvenile Lawin (Philippine hawk eagle, Nisaetus philippensis) has been rescued and brought to the custody of a wildlife rescue center in Tuguegarao, Cagayan, thanks to a concerned citizen who found it and surrendered it to proper authorities. Placed in a small plastic cage with a few slices of fresh pork meat, the bird was brought to the Office of the Mayor in the municipality of Baggao. Read more: Philippine hawk eagle rescued in Cagayan
