FMP conducts annual assessment and planning, staff dev’t workshop

Los Baños, Laguna ― Forestland Management Project (FMP) Central Project Management Office (CPMO) staff together with the Regional and Provincial Focal Persons, Site Management Officers, Budget Officers, and Financial Assistants, AND Community Development Officers from Regions 2, 3, 6 and Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) gathered last 9-11 December 2015 at Splash Mountain Resort, Los Baños, Laguna for its year-end assessment and planning.

Among the major topics discussed include the assessment of accomplishment under the major activities of FMP as of CY 2015, Project Status Report, and the Work and Financial Plan for CY 2016 which details the roadmap of Project’s activities in the coming year.

A staff development workshop on Community Development and People’s Organization Capacity Building, attended by Community Development Officers/Assistants and facilitated by FMP Assisting Professional on Community Development, was also conducted as part of the breakout sessions.

In view of the on-going rationalization plan, the project management decided to conduct an orientation to its newly-hired personnel across Regions to help them hurdle the learning curve and increase effectiveness of project implementation. The CPMO staff led the said orientation on the background of the Project, including its Project Operations Manual. Representatives from the DENR Foreign-Assisted and Special Projects Service (FASPS) also discussed the Project’s Logical Framework and financial processes and reportorial requirements as part of the orientation and workshop.
