FMP conducts Project orientation to FIUs staff due to challenges brought by the DENR Rationalization
The Forestland Management Project (FMP) designed and facilitated the conduct of series of “Project Orientation and Levelling-off Workshops” in Regions 2, 3, 6, and CAR last 9 August to 1 September 2016 to facilitate the transition process for the outgoing and the incoming FMP staff, including the conduct of mentoring and knowledge transfer.
The said activity was in response to one of the agreements made during FMP’s first Project Steering Committee (PSC) meeting conducted last 24 June 2016 at the Bulwagang Ninoy, Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Center in Quezon City wherein the impact of the implementation of DENR Rationalization Plan to the Project was discussed.
It aimed to facilitate Project implementation by way of having a common understanding about the Project goals, objectives and activities, as well as the specific roles and responsibilities of those involved. Likewise, the activity is part of the staff development initiatives of the Project to capacitate the FMP staff in implementing various Project activities.
It was primarily participated by the newly-hired staff of FMP, including those who got hired starting January 2016, totaling to more than a hundred. The PENROs, CENROs, and FMP Regional and Focal Persons also attended the said event. Meanwhile, the Central Project Management Office (CPMO) staff served as the facilitators and lecturers of the various components, activities and topics of the Project.
The result of the levelling-off workshop include the following: (1) enhanced/clarified roles and responsibilities of the Project Implementing Units; (2) agreed upon timelines of submission of Reports; and (3) system/procedures on the management of Project documents.
