FMP conducts series of validation of Comprehensive Site Development accomplishments
A series of validation of the accomplished Comprehensive Site Development activities under the Forestland Management Project (FMP) was conducted last October 2016 in the Regions 2, 3, 6 and CAR.
The Central Project Management Office (CPMO) of Forestland Management Project (FMP) and DENR Foreign-Assisted and Special Projects Service (FASPS) took the lead in the validation activity. It was participated by the Regional Project Management Office (RPMO) and assisted by the Provincial Project Management Office (PPMO), Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) and concerned Subproject Site Management Offices (SUSIMOs) under FMP.
The validation activity, which covers the reported accomplishments under the CSD activities from 2012-2016, primarily aimed to identify operational issues and concerns relative to Project implementation, and to recommend corresponding corrective measures thereof for the smooth implementation of the targets for 2017.
The two types of validation that was conducted are document validation and the ground validation. Based on the results, the FMP called for the 3rd Project Technical Committee Meeting last November 3 to address the identified issues and concerns including those needing policy enhancements. These include the improvement of guidelines in site development activities and ensuring the survival of plantation as well as maintenance and protection activities on the areas covered by FMP.
