The Forest Management Bureau (FMB) through the Forest Policy, Planning and Knowledge Management Division (FPPKMD) conducted the Assessment Workshop on the National Implementation of the Enhanced Forestry Information System (eFIS). The workshop was attended by the FMB Assistant Director Mayumi Quintos-Natividad, FMB-FPPKMD Chief For. Edna D. Nuestro, Regional Planning and Management Division Chiefs, Regional eFIS Focal Persons, representatives from the Information Systems Division and Network Infrastructure Management Division of the DENR Central Office, representatives from the Technical Divisions of the Forest Management Bureau and the staffs of the FPPKMD-Knowledge and Information System Section (KISS).
In the opening and welcome remarks of Assistant Director Mayumi Quintos-Natividad, she pointed out the relevance of the eFIS and the importance of the availability of updated database that shall facilitate adequate data support to policy formulation and decision-making.
The program of the three-day workshop includes updates on the implementation of eFIS, presentation of the DENR Regional Offices on the status of their implementation, issues, concerns, and recommendations. Based on their presentations, the eFIS protocol and activities for 2018 were formulated.
