With the adoption of the Lawin Forest and Biodiversity Protection System as a National Strategy for Forest and Biodiversity Protection in the country, the Forest Management Bureau through the Lawin Unit conducted its Midyear Assessment on August 6-9, 2019 at the B Hotel, Quezon City. The activity was participated by the Assistant Regional Directors for Technical Services, Regional Planning Officers, Regional Enforcement Division Chiefs and Regional Data Managers. It was also attended by FMB Assistant Director, Edna D. Nuestro, Forest Resources Conservation Division Chief, Ma. Teresa G. Aquino, Forest Policy Planning and Knowledge Management Division Chief, Isabelita V. Austria and representatives from the DENR-Central Office Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Division.
The activity involved a discussion of the implementing issues and concerns experienced by the field offices, as well as the strategies and forward planning spearheaded by the DENR Central Office to improve the implementation of the Lawin System in the next 6 months.
