The Forest Management Bureau (FMB) through the Forest Policy, Planning and Knowledge Management Division (FPPKMD) conducted an Orientation Training on Forest Land Use Planning last August 5-7 at the Widus Hotel, Clark Pampanga.
The training workshop was participated by the FMB Expanded Execom Members. Representatives from the DENR Planning and Policy Studies Office, Foreign Assisted and Special Projects and Biodiversity Management Bureau was invited also to the said training.
The training aims to instill knowledge on a governance-oriented FLUP process and related concepts as well as develop skills in analyzing FLUP data and maps to be able to translate them into strategic programs. At the end of the training, participants were expected to have increased capability in providing guidance to DENR field personnel in coming up with a sound FLUP. It aims to capacitate DENR staff in responding to LGU requests for assistance in FLUP formulation given the need to harmonize the use of forest resources and implement a ridge to reef approach.
