On December 04, 2019, the delegation from the ADB funded - Forest Investment Program - 1 (FIP-1) of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MoEF), Indonesia was welcomed by FMB Director Nonito M. Tamayo and OIC, Assistant Director Edna D. Nuestro, together with Director Angelito V. Fontanilla, INREMP’s Deputy Project Director, For. Percival M. Cardona, Project Manager of INREMP, Director Lourdes C. Wagan of the Foreign Assisted Special Project Service (FASPS), other members of FMB Execom including other representatives from FASPS and NPCO. A briefing was also conducted with the presence of Mr. Thierry Liabastre and Ms. Karen Chua of ADB, and Ms. Caroline Piñon from World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF).
Director Tamayo shared the DENR organizational structure and various programs and projects of the Bureau, highlighting the National Greening Program (NGP) and its practice on incorporating agricultural crops in the NGP implementation as it coincides with its objective on poverty alleviation. He also discussed the other major forestry programs and projects, to include National Forest Protection Program, Forestry Investment Road Map, Forestland Management Project (FMP) and INREMP, among others.
The delegates will be visiting INREMP sites at the Upper Chico River Basin in the Cordillera Administrative Region on December 4-7, 2019 particularly with partner People’s Organizations (POs) implementing Natural Resources Management (NRM) and Livelihood Enhancement Support (LES) sub-projects. The visit is a learning and sharing opportunity for the delegates, and INREMP as well, in terms of project implementation.
