Workshop on the Review and Finalization of the Lawin Response Protocol

On August 2-3, 2017, The Forest Management Bureau and the USAID through the B+WISER program jointly organized a workshop on Lawin Forest and Biodiversity Protection System Response Protocol at the Bellevue “B” Hotel, Quezon City.

The workshop focused on the review and finalization of the response protocol that will be implemented in the Lawin System nationwide. It served as an avenue for the participants to give insights and suggestions for the improvement of the protocol. The Response Protocol will serve as a standard for the responses by field offices in addressing threats observed during patrolling.

The program started with opening messages from Dir. Nonito Tamayo of the Forest Management Bureau, Dir. Ricardo Calderon of Field Operations, and Contracting Officer from USAID, Ms. Rebecca Guieb. The workshop was attended by Assistant Regional Directors for Technical Services, selected PENROs and CENROs, PASUs from B+WISER sites, representatives from the Forest Management Bureau, Biodiversity Management Bureau, and USAID B+WISER.
