The study focuses on modeling and valuation of forest ecosystem services in order to achieve the twin goals of improving lives of the poor and enhancing their resilience to the impacts of climate change.
Program on Forests (PROFOR) is a multi-donor mechanism housed at The World Bank, mandated to strengthen forests' contribution to poverty reduction, sustainable economic development and the protection of global and local environmental values.
The study is a partnership between the Department of Environment and Natural Resources and The World Bank. The Forest Management Bureau is leading its implementation, in collaboration with the River Basin Control Office and DENR Regional Offices.
The project started in June 2015 and is expected to end on October 2016.
