The Forest Management Bureau (FMB) is currently conducting a blended workshop for the official roll-out of the Reforestation Information and Management System (RIMS) Phase 1 bringing together key representatives from FMB, DENR Regional and Field Offices, the Biodiversity Management Bureau (BMB), and the Ecosystems Research and Development Bureau (ERDB).
RIMS is a centralized online platform for consolidating and accessing key NGP data, such as seedling counts and reforested areas. It is designed to improve reporting efficiency and support data-driven planning at the national level. The launch of RIMS Phase I marks a key milestone in the nationwide digitalization of reforestation data, laying the groundwork for comprehensive coverage of all reforestation efforts. Through this, the DENR reaffirms its commitment to advancing transparency, accountability, and data-driven decision-making in the implementation of reforestation programs across the country.
This workshop seeks to capacitate participants on encoding, uploading, and verifying information within the system, define the specific roles of concerned staff and offices, and outline the implementation timeline. It also provides an avenue to gather feedback and recommendations from field offices to improve the system’s functionality and responsiveness.
