The DENR-FMB is currently conducting a Consultation Workshop on Policy Gaps and Needs Identification to support FMB’s commitment to strengthen forestry-related policy frameworks. Specifically, it aims to (1) identify and discuss existing policy issues and gaps and emerging needs within the forestry sector; (2) engage the private sector in providing input on policy development, including the formulation of new policies and the updating of existing ones; and (3) identify concrete actions and possible areas of collaboration or harmonization to implement forestry-related programs, projects, and activities effectively and efficiently.

The said consultation is being attended by a diverse group of stakeholders, including representatives from the private sector, non-government organizations (NGOs), civil society organizations (CSOs), and other external partners. Their insights and experiences will contribute to a comprehensive understanding of the current challenges and opportunities in forest policy development.
