The Forest Management Bureau (FMB) is conducting a three-day workshop from January 19 to 21, 2026, to finalize its budget proposals and financial projections for Fiscal Year (FY) 2027.

This workshop focuses on three primary objectives: formulating the FY 2027 budget proposal, developing the FY 2027-2029 forward estimates, and updating the Forestry Sector Units of Work Measurement (UWM).

The workshop aims to revisit the sector’s strategic directions to meet emerging needs and align with the present administration’s directives. Central to these discussions is enhancement of programs, projects, and activities for forest resource management, development, and protection.

Under the leadership of Director Arturo E. Fadriquela, the Bureau is prioritizing the establishment of a strategic framework for Forest and Landscape Restoration (FLR) while simultaneously improving forest protection by increasing the density of personnel in patrolled areas. Furthermore, the FMB is conducting a comprehensive review of the costs associated with forestry activities to ensure that all financial allocations are strategically aligned with the Bureau’s mandate and the administration’s environmental goals.

Beyond budgetary planning, the workshop serves as a platform to resolve bottlenecks in on-the-ground implementation. By addressing specific concerns related to field office operations, the Bureau seeks to streamline service delivery and improve the overall efficiency of forestry projects for its stakeholders.
