The DENR, through the Community Forestry Section – Forest Resources Management Division (CFS-FRMD) of the Forest Management Bureau (FMB) and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program National Coordinating Office (DENR-CARP NCO) participates on the Agraryo Trade Fair 2024 held at the Department of Agrarian Reform Gymnasium, Quezon City from October 15-18, 2024. The event is aligned with the celebration of the International Rural Women’s month and the Philippine Rural Women’s Day which is done every 15th of October.

With this year’s theme: “Kababaihan sa Kanayunan: Kabalikat sa Repormang Agraryo para sa Maunlad at Matatag na Bagong Pilipinas”. Different regions across the country showcased their Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organizations’ (ARBOs) products through regional festival designed booths. Alongside, various national government agencies featured the role of women in the implementation of their respective programs and projects.

The DENR’s booth primarily exhibits notable women leaders from People’s Organizations who bravely took the challenge in bringing the development and progress in their respective forest communities. Some of the highlighted notable women of POs are the 2024 Wangari Matthai Forest Champion Awardee – Ms. Nida Collado, and 2011 Asia Pacific Forestry Forest Champion recipient – Ms. Nely Alzula. The booth also displayed assorted PO products to promote the sustainable livelihood of our forest communities.
