The Forest Management Bureau (FMB) is spearheading a four-day workshop for the Mid-Year Assessment of the Accomplishment of the Forest Resources Assessment (FRA) for Calendar Year 2025 and the Roll-Out of the Forest Resources Assessment Information System (FRAIS). The event runs from July 29 to August 1, 2025, at Ace Hotel and Suites in Pasig City.

The activity gathers officials and technical personnel from FMB and selected members of the Regional Forest Resources Assessment Teams (RFATs) across the country. It aims to evaluate the ongoing implementation of FRA and introduce the newly developed FRAIS platform to ensure enhanced efficiency and accuracy in data handling and forest monitoring efforts.

The Forest Resources Assessment (FRA), which serves as the national forest inventory, provides crucial data on the distribution of forests and tree resources. This includes details such as species composition, ownership and management status, standing volume, growing stock, felling and removals, and the overall use and management of forest areas.

In line with strengthening forest data collection and analysis, the Forest Resources Assessment Information System (FRAIS) was developed. FRAIS is a web-based platform designed to support the national forest inventory by offering a centralized system for data collection, encoding, storage, and analysis. By the end of the four-day activity, participants are expected to be better equipped in conducting FRA activities and in utilizing the FRAIS for data management, ultimately contributing to improved forest governance in the country.
