The Forest Management Bureau, through the Forest Investment Development Division (FMB-FIDD), conducted an Orientation Training on Economic Analysis and Valuation of Investment Options from May 7-9, 2025, at Monte Vista Hotsprings and Conference Resort, Calamba, Laguna.

This training was attended by the Technical Staff of the Forest Management Bureau. A collaborative effort with the UPLB Valuation and Accounting of Ecosystem Services Laboratory (UPLB VALUES Lab). Dr. Margaret Calderon and Dr. Canesio Predo facilitated the training which they provided essential expertise in the financial and economic analyses of forestry investment options.

Orientation training on economic analysis and valuation of forestry investments is imperative for informed decision-making. It provides participants with the skills to assess financial potential through valuation methodologies and fosters an understanding of economic factors, enabling the monetary estimation of the total economic value of ecosystem services.

This training supports cost-benefit and cost-effectiveness analyses, assisting investors in the evaluation of project viability, returns, and alignment with economic and environmental objectives within the framework of long-term planning and evolving conditions.

Furthermore, it is critical for risk management and performance enhancement, achieved by developing decision-making proficiencies, mitigating risks, aligning investments with strategic objectives, and strengthening analytical capabilities for sustained success.
