Tagaytay – May 26 – 29, 2025 — The Forest Management Bureau (FMB) is currently hosting a workshop focused on the development of a Watershed Health Monitoring and Assessment Tool. This innovative tool is essential for evaluating the overall health and sustainability of the country’s watersheds.

In this national consultation workshop, representatives from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), National Irrigation Administration (NIA), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), and Department of Agriculture (DA), gathered to build consensus on the structure, methodology, and policy direction for the proposed Watershed Health Monitoring and Assessment Tool. This initiative seeks to address long-standing challenges in watershed management, spanning from upland areas to coastal regions.

The Watershed Health Monitoring and Assessment Tool aims to provide a standardized, science-based approach to monitoring watershed conditions. Delivering consistent, reliable data, the tool will optimize resource allocation effectively and support the creation of informed policies to better protect and manage watersheds.
