The Forest Management Bureau (FMB) spearheaded the Hybrid Orientation on the Implementation of Collaboration for the Forestry Spatial Datasets (FSD) Portal, in alignment with DENR Memorandum Circular 2025-01, held on May 6-9, 2025, in Tagaytay, City.

This initiative reinforces the Bureau’s commitment to advancing forestry planning, management, protection, and conservation through Geographic Information System (GIS) technologies. The orientation also served as a pivotal step towards bridging two powerful platforms through ArcGIS Enterprise’s partnered portal collaboration between the FSD Control Map and the DENR Control Map Portals. This integration enables secure and efficient sharing of GIS content across ArcGIS enterprise deployments, significantly enhancing data accessibility, operational efficiency, and inter-agency coordination among DENR Offices, Bureaus, and implementing field offices.

Furthermore, this initiative marks a transition to an enterprise geodatabase system, centralizing spatial data management to enhance consistency, security, and scalability. This enables real-time multi-user collaboration, ensuring that decision-making is based on accurate, reliable, and timely environmental data. The event equipped participants with comprehensive knowledge on GIS innovations, particularly enterprise geodatabases, which facilitate simultaneous access, editing, and analysis of geospatial data while minimizing data duplication and enhancing overall efficiency.

The hybrid workshop was honored by the presence of Assistant Regional Director for Management Services in DENR CALABARZON, Atty. Leizl De Mesa, alongside GIS Focal Persons and the FSD Management Teams from the Regional Offices, PENRO Data Managers, CENRO Data Creators, the DENR Geospatial Database Office, and the FMB Geospatial Data Management Team.

This initiative underscores FMB’s commitment to collecting and managing valuable geospatial data that supports science-driven, risk-informed planning, policymaking, and decision-making.
