DENR AND CBFM-PEOPLE'S ORGANIZATIONS LAUNCHED A 10-YEAR STRATEGIC PLAN FOR CBFM

The Forest Management Bureau launched the Community-Based Forest Management (CBFM) Strategic Plan for CY 2023-2032 at the Sequoia Hotel in Quezon City on 19 May 2023.

Present at the Launch were the officers of the National Federation of CBFM- People’s Organizations (CBFM-POs) representing the 1,971 CBFM-POs nationwide and officials of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) led by the Undersecretary for Policy, Planning, and International Affairs, Atty. Jonas Leones, Undersecretary for Legal and Administration, Atty. Ernesto Adobo, Jr., Assistant Secretary for Policy, Planning, and International Affairs, and BMB Director, in concurrent capacity, Asec. Marcial C. Amaro, Jr., and OIC Assistant Secretary for Field Operations- Western Mindanao and FMB Director, in concurrent capacity, Asec. Arleigh J. Adorable. Additionally, representatives of various partner agencies, international organizations, and academe graced the event.

The activity, co-organized by the Yakap Kalikasan Tungo sa Kaularan ng Pilipinas, Inc. and the Forest Management Bureau (FMB), with support from the Forest Foundation Philippines (FFP) and Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP), will be followed by a Department Administrative Order adopting the Strategic Plan for the implementation of the CBFM program, the creation of Regional Action Plans, and a communication plan.
