The Forest Management Bureau collaborates with the Forest Foundation Philippines in developing a Policy Analysis of Devolved Forest Management Functions to assess the devolved functions to the Local Government Units (LGUs) after enactment of the Local Government Code of 1991 and document lessons learned and challenges in the implementation of devolved functions. In line with this partnership, FMB led the conduct of the National Consultation Workshop on the Implementation of Devolved Forest Management Functions to the LGUs through Tanggol Kalikasan on March 15-17, 2023 in Clark, Pampanga.
The workshop was participated with the officials and representatives from the DENR Field Offices and Local Government Units nationwide. Fruitful discussion was undertaken as it deepened the understanding of the participants on the status of the implementation of devolved functions on the ground. Also, the consultation served as an opportunity to share insights, learnings and recommendations on how to improve the implementation of devolution.
