The Forest Management Bureau through the Forest Management Project conducted “Training of Trainers on Remote Sensing Application for Forest Resources Assessment in the Philippines” on July 29 -31, 2015 at the Lancaster Hotel in Mandaluyong City.
This learning event was consistent with the Philippine commitments under the ASEAN-Republic of Korea Forest Cooperation (AFoCo) project on capacity building on improving forest resources assessment and enhancing the involvement of the local communities to address the adverse impact of climate change.
The training/workshop was attended by a representative of Regional Forest Inventory Team (RFIT) and a GIS/Remote Sensing Specialist from the DENR Regional Offices nationwide.
The implementation of the workshop was based on the outputs in both in-country workshops that was held in Clark, Pampanga on 28-30 May 2014 and in ASEAN Regional Workshop in Indonesia on 3-4 November 2014.
